With the 2019 McDonald’s All American Game now in the books, that leaves only two more major showcase games for the class of 2019. The Nike Hoop Summit, which will be played in Portland, Oregon on April 12th, and the Jordan Brand Classic, which will be played this year in Las Vegas, Nevade on April 20th, are the only showcase games left on the calender. So which prospects are still on the board for the class of 2019? Six names come to mind when we look at who is still on the board nationally for this class.

PG Cole Anthony (Oak Hill Academy, VA) – New York native Cole Anthony has only five schools left on his list and those programs include Georgetown, Oregon, North Carolina, Wake Forest, and Notre Dame. Anthony is a 6-foot-3 point guard who can score in bunches and is an incredible leader on and off the court. Cole is obviously the top available prospect still left on the board for the 2019 class and is currently ranked as the number one point guard. We have no idea where Cole could potentially end up due to the fact he has a relationship with all five programs. A few people are assuming he will end up at North Carolina next season with current point guard freshman Coby White heading to the NBA draft at the end of the season and also 2019 C Armando Bacot Jr., who is already headed to Chapel Hill next season, is a very close friend of Cole’s. Anthony is expected to make his decision sometime next month and where he ends up, that program will be receiving a very special player.

F Jaden McDaniels (Federal Way, WA) – 6-foot-11 Jaden McDaniels has been receiving comparisons to NBA superstar Kevin Durant from a bunch of media outlets and as he should. With the same body type and somewhat skillset, McDaniels could be a potential lottery pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. He holds supreme athleticism and length for a kid his size. Jaden could be characterized a pure score and is just able to put the ball in the basket when it comes down to it. The question is, where will he be attending college in the fall? Jaden has cut his list to five schools that include his hometown Washington, Kentukcy, Texas, UCLA, and San Diego State, where his older brother Jalen is just finishing his sophomore year. Washington and San Diego State have the strongest chances right now to land McDaniels and you can never count out John Calipari and Big Blue Nation of Kentucky.

F Matthew Hurt (John Marshall, MN) – Matthew Hurt, the 6-foot-9 forward out of Minnesota, has stated that he will be making his college decision on April 19th, the day before his birthday and Jordan Brand Classic. His final four schools include Kansas, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Duke. Matthew is a skilled stretch four man and holds a plethora of qualities in his game. He is a super versatile player on both ends of the floor and like a couple others in his class, he could definitely be put in that one-and-done conversation. Matthew averaged 37.0 points per game during his senior season of high school for a reason. Wherever he ends up, that program should not expect him to return as he is NBA ready and will fit in well with today’s NBA game with bigs shooting more perimeter jumpers.

F Precious Achiuwa (Montverde Academy, FL) – Precious Achiuwa, out of the Bronx in New York, transferred into powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida for his senior campaign. With April coming up, Achiuwa has yet to make a college decision and has yet to narrow his list of schools. The 6-foot-9 forward could go anywhere to play his college basketball next year and his recruitment is wide open. He has offers from Kansas, North Carolina, Memphis, UCONN, Georgia, St. John’s, Florida State, and more. His only official visits include Kansas and North Carolina but he has said he will be looking to take a couple more visits soon. Achiuwa holds a tremondous body frame at 6-foot-9 and is long and athletic. He is known right now as a threat running the floor and a lockdown defender. He has great upside and his full potential has yet to unlock.

F Trendon Watford (Mountain Brook, AL) – The two time Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year, 6-foot-9 Trendon Watford, is one of the top scorers in the class of 2019. His final list of schools include Alabama, LSU, Memphis, Indiana, and Duke has recently been in contact with him. Trendon will also be making a decision pretty soon as April approaches. His older brother, Christian Watford, played at Indiana just a few years ago and is now currently in the NBA G League, so Indiana certainly has some ties there and could have a high chance of landing Watford. Memphis has also been in contact with Trendon and Memphis commit C James Wiseman has been doing all he can to try and get him there as well as both five stars played together in July during the evaluation period last summer. Trendon says even though Duke is getting involved a little late, you cannot count out the fact that Coach K is one of the greatest coaches of all time. Watford holds a great body frame and size and knows exactly how to utilize it. Whereever he decides to go to school, that program should expect him to most likely be a one-and-done due to his talent and skill set.

SG Cassius Stanley (Sierra Canyon, CA) – One of the most talented players in this 2019 class is without question Cassisus Stanley. The 6-foot-5 two-guard is an explosive athlete who is able to score in a variety of ways when he is on the floor. He is a solid two way playmaker and has incredible size at that shooting guard position. The Los Angeles native has cut his list of offers down to just three and those schools include UCLA, Oregon, and Kansas. Many believe UCLA is the target but after the firing of HC Steve Alford, there might just be a delay on that. Kansas has also been one of Stanley’s favorite’s as well and you also cannot count out Oregon as they are the sleeper in this one. Cassius would be an immediate impact whereever he lands as he is a freak athlete who is also efficient on both ends of the floor.
