Due to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak, the class of 2020 received a hard ending to their senior season and famous and annual all star games like the McDonald’s All American Game (Houston, Texas) and Jordan Brand Classic (Chicago, Illinois) were forced to be cancelled. The 2020 class has arguably been known as one of the best overall classes regarding their talents on the basketball court. With their senior seasons being cut short, the next time we will see these prospects on the floor will be in a college uniform. Below we take a look at which prospects in the class are potential one-and-dones and could be headed to the NBA Draft much earlier than others.

SG Jalen Green (unsigned) – Jalen Green has been considered a top-5 lottery pick in the 2021 NBA Draft over the last year or so and his game has shown the national media and NBA scouts why that is. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard is a walking highlight reel with his explosiveness to the rim and gifted athleticism. Green was recently named the number one prospect in the 2020 class and has earned that spot over the last couple of years. Jalen has the ability to score in a dynamic fashion. Showing he can be consistent knocking down perimeter jump shots, creating for others at the two-guard position, and displaying his body control when finishing at the rim with his wiry strength. He can convert jumpers off the bounce and/or catch, is extremely bouncy, and just holds all the tools to be great at the next level. Green has yet to decide which college he will attend this fall, but wherever he lands, he will for sure make an immediate impact and draw a plethora of media attention and NBA personnel.

SG Josh Christopher (unsigned) – UCLA, Michigan, Missouri, and Arizona State are the final four schools on Christopher’s list. One of those schools will be receiving a possible one-and-done prospect and very special talent obviously. Josh holds a unique scoring ability that NBA scouts should fall in love with during his time in college basketball next season. He is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard with an incredible body frame that helps his scoring asset. Josh is able to score on all three levels of the floor. Scoring from long range, mid-range, or finishing inside around the rim. He holds explosiveness, athleticism, and is a competitor on both ends of the court. Christopher has that dog mentality set in his DNA and motor is always engaged at a very high level. Wherever Christopher lands for his college basketball career, he should be an immediate impact offensively.

PG Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma State) – Cade Cunningham should be the head of the snake next season at Oklahoma State and could bring the Cowboys back into the top-25 next season and a lethal threat in the Big 12. Cunningham has already impressed NBA scouts and NBA Draft experts over the last few months and has been considered the possible number one pick in next summer’s NBA Draft. Cade is a 6-foot-7 point guard who is able to see over most of his opponents due to his size and has the elite vision to make tough passes through the defense. Cunningham is also considered an elite versatile defender with his size and can always be an asset on the glass as well. With a point guard his size, NBA scouts will be drooling over him during his time in Stillwater. He has shown the ability to be a consistent finisher at the rim, score on the second level with his mid-range jump shot, and rarely turning the ball over as a point guard. Cade has extreme upside and will continue to grow his game and could potentially be the next point guard to run an NBA franchise.

C Evan Mobley (USC) – Once Onyeka Okongwu hits the NBA Draft this June, the Trojans will insert new upcoming freshman big man Evan Mobley in the starting lineup next season. Evan will also be a possible one-and-done for USC next season, just like his former AAU teammate Okongwu. The 7-foot-0 plus center holds all the tools to be that versatile big man on the next level. Mobley shows a unique scoring ability offensively for a 7-footer, super effective on the glass, and an elite rim protector defensively. He is an extreme interior intimidator down low with his lengthy arms and could potentially lead the nation in blocked shots next season as a freshman. Evan is able to catch lobs over the top as well with his wingspan, plays with a great motor, and runs the floor well for a 7-footer running rim-to-rim. Mobley will be an effective paint presence down low offensively and defensively with his defensive instincts inside.

SG B.J. Boston (Kentucky) – Kentucky HC John Calipari is going to love what he receives from Brandon Boston Jr. once he steps on the floor with a Kentucky uniform. Boston Jr. will help spread the offense in Lexington, as he is one of the best knockdown perimeter shooters in the class without question. Besides B.J.’s outside shooting abilities, the 6-foot-7 shooting guard always shows his other attributes while on the floor. Scoring off cuts, running in transition, being effective on the glass, and an active defender are other qualities Brandon holds in his game. He holds the size, athleticism, and length as a next level wing and plays with such an extreme motor and energy that it feeds off on to his teammates as well. Boston Jr. will certainly become a top NBA prospect once the college season begins next winter and should be another lottery pick in the 2021 NBA Draft next summer.

SG Terrence Clarke (Kentucky) – Terrence Clarke out of Brewster Academy (NH) will be another highly rated wing headed to Lexington next fall to join the Wildcats. Like Boston Jr., Clarke has also been considered a potential lottery pick in the 2021 NBA Draft next June. The Boston native is a versatile 6-foot-7 wing who holds all the tools to be a next level scoring threat. He holds elite size, athleticism, and length at his position. Terrence can create his own offense knocking down jumpers off the catch and off the bounce, able to drive and take his defender off the dribble, and is an active rebounder on both ends. Clarke is a special prospect and should be an immediate impact in John Calipari’s offense next season at Kentucky. There are not many holes in Calrke’s game and just being consistent in his elite skillsets will be the main objective for him to show NBA scouts.

F Scottie Barnes (Florida State) – The future of Florida State should be in great hands next season with the 6-foot-9 point forward Scottie Barnes. Yes, I said POINT FORWARD. Although Barnes stands at 6-foot-9, he has proven consitently that he is able to display his point guard skills at the forward position, somewhat like a Ben Simmons. Scottie shows extreme and elite versatility on both ends of the floor as he is also an elite on-ball and off-ball defensive specialist. Barnes should be running the point guard position next season down in Tallahassee and his high versatile skill set should be the main standout that impresses NBA scouts and media personnel. His vision as a forward comes natural. He is a fierce competitor who plays with nice passion, is effective crashing the boards on both ends, and always plays with a high running motor. Scottie is indeed special and could fill up the stat sheet in every category if given a chance.

SG Cam Thomas (LSU) – The 2019 Nike EYBL leading scorer, Cam Thomas, could be in the run for not only the SEC Freshmen of the Year, but also the SEC Player of the Year for the LSU Tigers next season. Thomas holds great positional size at 6-foot-3 and is an outstanding 3-level scorer. With Skylar Mays and JaVonte Smart most likely heading to the NBA Draft, the backcourt should be led by Cam Thomas next season for Will Wade. His incredible scoring ability is what NBA scouts have been impressed with the most during his time at Oak Hill Academy and in the Nike EYBL circuit. Thomas is an electric scoring guard with an elite shooting stroke and release on his jump shot. He is able to create his own shot off the bounce, can space the floor with his outside range, and can weave his way through the defense as well creating his own offense. A big time prospect NBA scouts should be all over during his time at LSU.

G Jaden Springer (Tennessee) – Rick Barnes go-to guy next season should be in the hands of 6-foot-5 combo guard Jaden Springer. The Charlotte native should be the face of the Volunteers next year and should lead them in scoring as a freshman. Why should NBA scouts be interested? Springer’s physical profile and positional size should not go unnoticed at 6-foot-5. Jaden has the ability to score in a variety of ways. His most elite asset is probably his finishing ability, especially through contact. He holds great body control when finishing at the rim, a gifted athlete, can score on the second and third levels, and holds the versatility to play point guard as well creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. Let us not forget that Jaden is one of the best on-ball defenders in the 2020 class. He is a determined defensive stopper and will be able to guard multiple positions with his football-like muscle tone.

F Jabri Abdur-Rahim (Virginia) – Despite battling injuries over the last year, Jabri Abdur-Rahim is still considered one of the best scorers in the loaded 2020 class, averaged 29.6 points per game in the 2019 Nike EYBL with Playaz Club (NJ). Abdur-Rahim should make an immediate impact at Virginia next season without a doubt. This year’s Virginia team did not have that go-to scorer and Jabri should certainly fill that role under Tony Bennett next fall. He is a 6-foot-7 forward who can create his own offense off the dribble and just seems like a wire to score prospect when the ball is in his hands. Abdur-Rahim has the ability to drive, catch and shoot, finish through contact, and run in transition to insert easy buckets. With his size and athletic ability, and being able to score like he can, Jabri should draw interest from NBA Scouts next season while in Charlottesville.
