F Michael James (Oak Ridge, FL) – The 6-foot-7 forward Michael James had himself an incredible junior season with Oak Ridge (FL) leading them to a 21-9 overall record and the FHSAA class 7A final four. James is a physical forward who holds a football-like muscle tone and has the ability to use his elite strength getting to the basket. He has shown he can score on the second level hitting mid-range jump shots and able to draw fouls finishing through traffic at the rim. With his size and body frame at 6-foot-7, Michael can also be a versatile defender guarding multiple positions. He holds offers right now from Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, South Florida, and others.

SG Cam McDowell (McEachern, GA) – Cam McDowell headlines our sleepers for the entire 2021 class and should open eyes of the college coaches, scouts, and national media this grassroots season. McDowell transferred into McEachern for his junior season and helped carry the scoring load throughout the season averaging 22.0 points per game. He is a 6-foot-5 lenghty shooting guard who plays with a great motor and can space the floor with his perimeter shooting. Cam is an effective rebounder, plays with toughness, and does the dirty work for his team. He does hold an offer from Virginia Tech, but the offers can start pilling up for sure in a couple months.

SG Zarique Nutter (The Patrick School, NJ) – Recently earning offers from schools like Nebraska and TCU, Zarique Nutter is certainly placed on the 2021 sleepers list for this upcoming grassroots season. Nutter played an important role this past season for The Patrick School (NJ) during the 2019-2020 high school season. He is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard who holds nice athleticism, plays with an outstanding motor, able to score off cuts and an excellent finisher at the rim. Zarique is also an outstanding on-ball defender and able to disrupt passing lanes with his lengthy arms. Nutter should pick up more and more offers in the next couple of months.

F Tre Carroll (Charlotte, FL) – Tre Carroll is a 6-foot-7 wing forward out of Charlotte (FL) and should receive more attention from college coaches going into his senior season next fall. Schools like Santa Clara, Denver, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson, and others have already offered or shown interest so far. Carroll holds good size, can space the floor with his outside shooting, moves extremely well without the ball scoring off cuts, and holds a good motor on him. He might lack strength as of right now but he can certainly improve on that in due time. Tre makes nice decisions with the ball, shoots the right shots, and is a high efficienct prospect as well when he is on the floor.

C Samson Johnson (The Patrick School, NJ) – Samson Johnson out of The Patrick School (NJ) might be one of the biggest sleepers in the 2021 class as of right now. The 6-foot-10 big man shows high upside with his play on the floor. Samson holds an elite wingspan with his slingy long arms, he is able to catch lobs over the top of the defense, a terrific glass cleaner, and shows his rim protection skills on a consistent basis. Johnson shows shades of a young Clint Capela and is an interior intimdator down low inside the paint. He will have to gain some strength as he grows but he will certainly open the eyes of more college coaches and scouts very soon.

F Malcolm Chimezie (Archbishop Stepinac, NY) – Another sleeper big man prospect in the 2021 class is Malcolm Chimezie out Archbishop Stepinac (NY). Malcolm was a huge asset to his team’s success this past season during his junior campaign. He is a 6-foot-8 physical forward who makes his presence known down inside the paint on both ends of the floor. He can finish inside off dump downs or lob catches with both hands and has the ability to pop out and knock down jump shots from 15-18 feet. Chimezie is an outstanding rebounder and a force on the glass. Schools like Boston, Fordham, Massachusetts, Canisius, Saint Louis, and others have offered and expressed interest so far.

F Ian Schieffelin (Grayson, GA) – One of the biggest sleepers in the entire country in the 2021 class is without question is Ian Schieffelin of Grayson (GA). Ian was overshadowed during his junior season with Grayson with their dynamic trio of seniors but was an extreme and important piece to their success this high school season. Schieffelin played most of his minutes at the five position due to the lack of size Grayson had. Sitting at 6-foot-7, the junior forward is one of the most consistent prospects in the class. Ian shows versatility on both ends of the floor, could be considered a stretch floor with his ability to knock down jumpers outside the paint, an asset on the glass, and plays with an elite motor. A steal for a college program someday.
