2022 City of Palms Classic Standouts

The 2022 City of Palms Classic was loaded with elite programs and prospects over the last few days down in Fort Myers, Florida. The annual showcase tournament is always known for that type of environment and did not disappoint this time around. There was talent up and down the line of games we were able to spectate and here we take a look at which prospects stood out during their time at the City of Palms Classic.

2025 PG Danny Carbuccia (Archbishop Stepinac, NY)

The 2025 prospect, Danny Carbuccia, was such a pleasure to watch out in Fort Myers this past week with Archbishop Stepinac (NY). The 6-foot-0 point guard is an elite floor general already at a young age and should expect to have an amazing career if he continues to develop in the game. Carbuccia was able to display his pace, ability to control the game, advanced IQ, and improved shot making skills from three. The young sophomore is already ahead of his time with his playmaking and floor awareness when he posses the ball.

2023 PG Jared McCain (Corona Centennial, CA)
The future of the Duke Blue Devils program is certainly in good hands and Jared McCain is the main reason why. The 6-foot-4 point guard is always a pleasure to watch when on the floor and never really disappoints, especially in the bigger games. McCain might not be the most athletic or flashiest player, but he gets it done for his team. He averaged 22.8 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game in four games. The senior guard consistently plays at his own tempo, super impactful on both ends of the floor, an elite shot maker, and rebounder for a guard his size. Jared already looks in great physical form for college with his strong body frame. He can control the game with his pace and able to run a team already at a very high rate.

2024 G Tre Johnson (Lake Highlands, TX)
Tre Johnson already came in with high buzz, arguably the No. 1 prospect in his class. Johnson certainly did not disappoint with his performances on the court. He was able to display his shot creation at 6-foot-6 and was very impressive with his motor and ability to defend at a high level. Johnson is certainly box office material, averaging 23.0 points per game during his time in Fort Myers, which led all scorers. Johnson has unnoticeable length, which he uses to deflect passes and come up with steals on the defensive side of the ball. His mentality is certainly on another level when on the floor and it showed consistently. The junior guard is one of the most intriguing long term prospects in high school.

2023 PG Rahmir Barno (Imhotep Charter, PA)
Rahmir Barno received the most valuable player award at the 2022 City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers and rightfully so. The Florida Gulf Coast commit gave Fort Myers an amazing preview on whats to come next season when he steps foot on campus. Barno was the engine for his team in route to capturing the tournament title. The 5-foot-11 point guard holds an extremely high IQ, made plays for his teammates consistently, displayed his ability to convert jumpers, and was able to still finish through traffic at times when attacking the rim. Barno is an elite floor general and just has the advanced mindset on where he needs to be and what he needs to do on both ends of the floor.

2025 F Cameron Boozer (Columbus, FL)
The number one prospect in his class and a top-10 prospect overall in the country, Cameron Boozer was just strictly dominate in his City of Palms Classic duration down in Fort Myers. The 6-foot-9+ forward always seems to showcase his next level skillset no matter what setting. Cameron is a mismatch problem for other bigs he faces with his ability to take them off the dribble or step outside the paint to knockdown jumpers. He is a versatile as they come with a unique skillset. The young sophomore averaged 16.6 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game through three games. Cameron Boozer is another elite long term prospect to keep eyes on throughout the years.

2023 PG Isaiah Collier (Wheeler, GA)
The future USC Trojan, Isaiah Collier, was the elite floor general as he is for his Wheeler Wildcats squad throughout the duration of the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers. Collier was able to display his elite speed in the open floor, floor awareness, passing ability, and finishing at the rim. The 6-foot-4 point guard bought his competitiveness out throughout all the games out in Fort Myers. He averaged 18.2 points per game and 6.2 assists per game in four games. He also showcased his active hands defensively, coming up with a few steals or forcing turnovers.

2024 G Boogie Fland (Archbishop Stepinac, NY)
Like his teammate Danny Carbuccia, Boogie Fland was very impressive out in Southwest Florida at the City of Palms Classic. The 6-foot-4 guard was able to showcase his elite scoring ability, activeness on the defensive end, and ability to run the one at times. Boogie brings instant offense on the floor with his 3-level scoring skills. He was able to get to his spots and displayed his speed and quickness when on the floor.

2025 PG Tyler Jackson (St. Frances Academy, MD)
Tyler Jackson is a name to get familiar with from here on out. The 6-foot-2 point guard had an outstanding outing in his City of Palms debut out in Fort Myers this past week, averaged 26.5 points per game in just two games. Jackson is next up out of the powerhouse St. Frances Academy program in Baltimore. He was able to showcase his elite three point shooting, ball skills, and all around feel for the game for a sophomore. He is a shifty point guard and could be a scrappy defender. The sophomore guard is certainly on the buy stock now list.

2023 G Stephon Castle (Newton, GA)
UConn bound, Stephon Castle, did what he consistently does every time he steps foot on the court. Castle was phenomenal down at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers and was filling every stat on the stat sheet and displaying his versatility. The 6-foot-6 combo guard was able to score, pass, defend, and rebound at a high level. He posted a triple double in his first game out in Fort Myers, going for 15 points, 10 boards, and 10 assists. Castle is a unique prospect and plays at his own pace. At his size, he is consistently able to get downhill attacking the rim and utilizing his strong frame against the smaller defenders.

2023 G Reed Sheppard (North Laurel, KY)
Reed Sheppard is always must-see TV whenever he is expected to play. The 6-foot-3 guard showed his skills during his time in Fort Myers at the City of Palms Classic. The Kentucky commit popped off the tournament with a 28-point performance. Sheppard has an incredible feel for the game and is capable of doing multiple things as the guard position. Outside his elite ability to score the ball, he is able to find his open teammates with his elite floor awareness, has a rangy three-point shooting ability, rebounds well for a guard, and holds active hands defensively.
