Liam McNeeley, 6-foot-7 forward out of Dallas, Texas, is going into his senior season at powerhouse Montverde Academy (FL). I recently had a chance to speak with Liam on multiple topics as we discussed his future plans at the next level.
He currently holds offers from Alabama, Kansas, Texas, Indiana, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Illinois, and plenty more. Texas, Kansas, and Indiana have been in contact with him the most at this point, he tells me.
“I plan on visiting Kansas this weekend (September 1st-3rd), Indiana next weekend (September 8-10th), and Texas September 22-24th.” Liam says.
I asked Liam how his last year of AAU went with the Florida Rebels, a Nike EYBL program out of Orlando, this past grassroots season. “I started off slow, but picked things up as the spring, summer went on. Getting to play with the Rebels and Karter Knox was very fun and I am glad I got to play with them.”
He will certainly be looking to help Montverde Academy (FL) capture another GEICO Nationals title by the end of his senior season in 2023-2024. The Eagles are loaded from top to bottom and Liam is excited to get things started.
“Last year we came up short, but we feel even more motivated to go undefeated and win the GEICO championship. We are practicing very hard right now, building more chemistry, and trust in each other.” Liam tells me.
He has a good relationship with his teammates, one that includes Cooper Flagg. “Cooper and I first met at a USA Mini Camp in Colorado and we have been very close since. He is like a brother to me and I love playing with him.” Liam added on his relationship with Cooper Flagg.
Liam does not have any specific date planned yet on when he plans on making his college decision or next level plans. “I plan to commit before the high school season starts.” He says.
Liam has the ability to showcase multiple things when he is on the floor. At his size he is able to score from all levels, extremely unselfish, holds elite versatility, and a player you can trust will make the right decision with the ball in his hand.
“I want to improve on my consistency in all ways of the game. I want to have more complete games this season.” He tells me.
