Jase Richardson is the son of former NBA player Jason Richardson. He holds offers from multiple next level programs such as Alabama, Michigan State, Arkansas, Cincinnati, San Diego State, Stanford, Arizona State, USC , Virginia, and others.
“Recruitment has been going great! I’ve been hearing a lot from Alabama, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Michigan State, and Florida.” Jase tells me. His father, Jason Richardson, spent a couple seasons at Michigan State helping them win the NCAA Tournament championship in 2000.
Jase tells me he is just coming off of his Alabama visit and will visit Michigan State this week followed by a visit to Cincinnati on September 23rd. He tells me that he has not scheduled any other visits just yet.
The 6-foot-3 point guard announced in July that he will be attending Columbus (FL), the back-to-back FHSAA class 7A state champions, for his senior season alongside his younger brother, 2026 Jaxon Richardson. Both the Richardson brothers attended powerhouse Bishop Gorman (NV) last season before transferring.
“I’m really excited for this season. I feel like we have a pretty special team this year and are ready to compete for a state and national championship. I’m really excited to be playing with Cam and Cayden and looking forward to when the season starts.” Jase says on joining 2025 prospects Cameron and Cayden Boozer, sons of former 2x NBA All Star Carlos Boozer.
Richardson adds much needed value to an already projected top-10 preseason program coming into the 2023-2024 high school season. He is a high quality point guard that holds a good balance of scoring the ball, facilitating, and making plays on the defensive end.
I asked Jase what is it that he would like to improve on with his game as he heads to the next level come next year?
“Getting stronger now that I’m back. This last year I was mostly rehabbing and trying to get back on the court. Now that I’m back healthy, I want to continue to add to that by getting stronger and working on my body.” He replies.
Jase ran with Paul George Elite (CA) for his last year of AAU in the Nike EYBL. Paul George, a current 8x NBA All Star with the Los Angeles Clippers, is one of the few current NBA players with a grassroots programs.
“Playing for PG, I got to go Paul’s workout and see how he prepares for season. I got a lot of valuable insight on taking care of my body and attacking rehab. He talked to me about continuing to work on my mid-range game, as all the elite NBA guys can score at all 3 levels. I feel like I tried to show that during EYBL.” Richardson says when talking about how it was playing under NBA All Star Paul George.
